Anupama Galgali (Cluster Manager, Mumbai Public Schools)
Anupama Galgali joined Naandi Foundation’s Mumbai Public School (MPS) Programme on 03 May, 2013 as a Cluster Manager. In her current role at Naandi, Anupama leads the MPS Cluster in pursuit of improving the learning levels of children from English-medium schools of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. Her work covers school operations, ensuring content implementation, training for teachers and liaising with the MPS stakeholders and partners. Anupama has 6 years of experience in the field of education. In her last assignment, she was instrumental in setting up and successfully running two graduate courses in one of the leading institutes – The BMCC College, Pune (Maharashtra) – for over 3050 students from all over India. Anupama is a post-graduate in International Business and Economics with distinction from the University of Karnataka. She graduated as a Bachelor of Business Administration. Anupama brings to Naandi her strong managements insights, leadership skills and an aspiration to contribute to society and shape the lives of the future of the country.
Faizy Siddiqui (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Faizy Siddiqui was born and brought up in Baroda and began her professional journey in Bombay. She joined the Mumbai Public Schools Programme of Naandi Foundation as a Facilitator on 21 May, 2013. Graduating with a Bachelors degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Maharaja Sayajirao University (Baroda), she completed her Masters from Tata Institute of Social Sciences specialising in Social Work in Disability Studies and Action. Faizy is fascinated by all facets of education and cites learning, child psychology and human development as her areas of interest. Five years from now, she plans to do research on the instructional design of education. Faizy has strong interpersonal skills, likes listening to music and loves doing creative art ranging from decorating walls, posters, umbrellas to handmade gifts. She likes the city of Mumbai as much as Baroda since it is unique, diverse and gives her a chance to explore. Being a fresher, she believes Naandi has provided the perfect start for her career.
Febin Kuriakose (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Febin Kuriakose joined the Mumbai Public Schools (MPS) Programme of Naandi Foundation on 21 May, 2013 as a Facilitator. Hailing from God’s own country of Kerala, Febin was brought up in Delhi and studied in Gwalior and Mumbai. He did his B.Sc Nursing (Hons.) from Jiwaji University of Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh). After completing the course, he sought admission in Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (Maharashtra) and specialised in Health and Development. Febin is passionate about health and education and always wanted to work in this sector. He believes education is one of the most important tools for the liberation of human beings and through the MPS programme, Naandi is indeed changing the lives of the underprivileged by giving them quality education. Febin is a keen sportsperson and loves football.
Jatin Thacker (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Jatin Thacker is a Facilitator with Mumbai Public Schools Programme. After finishing B.Com from Vinoba Bhave University (Hazaribagh, Jharkhand), Jatin completed his MBA with a specialisation in Rural Management from Xaviers Institute of Social Sciences, Ranchi (Jharkhand). Jatin believes that his association with Naandi Foundation did not happen by chance but rather by choice. He was inclined towards social work from the very beginning which led him to XISS to pursue a course in Rural Management. The exposure he got from attending rural camps and conducting field work made him aware about the harsh realities the underprivileged and marginalised across the country face everyday. This experience instilled in him a will to work towards the upliftment of the poor and under-served. Through the Mumbai Public Schools Programme, Jatin is looking forward to learn a lot and give his best. He enjoys photography, cooking and travelling. One thing he would like to change about himself is his laziness.
Nazia Kamboj (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Nazia Kamboj was born and brought up in Patiala (Punjab). She graduated as a Bachelor of Arts from Punjab University and came to Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai to pursue a Masters in Social Work. Nazia’s specialisation at TISS was Criminology and the Criminal Justice System of India. She joined Naandi Foundation on 21 May, 2013 as a Facilitator with the Mumbai Public Schools Programme to get exposure in the field of education and understand grassroot-level management. Nazia likes reading nonfiction and traveling. She is passionate about mountaineering, trekking and dreams to walk through the Alps one day.
Parthajit Chintey (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Parthajit Chintey joined Naandi Foundation as a Facilitator with Mumbai Public Schools Programme on 21 May, 2013. After graduating from Delhi University, Parthajit came to Mumbai and did his Masters from Tata Institute of Social Sciences with a specialisation in Health and Development. Born and raised in Guwahati (Assam), he is the recipient of the prestigious Governor’s Award by Bharat Scouts and Guides. Passionate about developmental issues, Parthajit always wanted to be associated with a non-profit organisation to contribute towards the society. He loves playing basketball, listening to music and is a good singer. Parthajit aspires to travel the world someday.
Preety Kohli (Project Management Officer, Mumbai Public Schools)
Preety Kohli is the Project Management Officer at Mumbai Public Schools (MPS). Her role is primarily that of a liaison between the Programme Manager & the MPS Team on aspects such as donor management, programme reviews and coordination with external partners of MPS such as Parisar Asha and Teach for India. After graduating from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune (Maharashtra), Preety completed her MBA in Finance from Xaviers Institute of Social Science, Ranchi (Jharkhand). With her expertise in the field of finance, she hopes to fine-tune the process of donor/financial management. Driven by Naandi’s ambitious goals of eradicating poverty, she wishes to utilize her skills to maximum potential in order to make a valuable contribution towards the organisation. With a keen interest in the field of education, Preety wants to grow further in the development sector and aspires to become part of the key decision making authority at Naandi. A complete film buff, Preety also loves travelling.
Ritika Dubey (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
Ritika Dubey hails from the holy city of Varanasi. After completing B.Com along with a certificate course in Tally 2010 software, she came to Mumbai and joined Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). At TISS, Ritika did her Masters in Social Work (MSW) with Community Organization and Development Practice as her specialisation. She joined the Naandi family through a campus placement and works as a Facilitator with Mumbai Public Schools Programme. Her hobbies include writing short stories, socialising and travelling. Ritika feels that working with the Mumbai Public Schools Programme reinforces her belief in what education stands for and how it shapes the lives of people.
Rukhsana Shaikh (Master Trainer, School Excellence Programme)
Rukhsana Shaikh’s professional career boasts an enviable teaching portfolio spanning over 15 long years at the Madni Urdu High School. A Bachelor of Arts from Hyderabad University, Rukhsana is a fast learner who is capable of adapting to the new and changing situations. She considers teaching as one of the most noble professions and is extremely passionate about it. She is an ardent reader and likes to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Rukhsana Shaikh is an integral part of the four-member Master Trainers team of the School Excellence Programme, Mumbai (Maharashtra) who develop learning material for 64 Urdu Medium MCGM schools under the guidance of Naandi’s Head Education Research and Learning Initiatives. In her free time, Rukhsana likes knitting and stitching.
Shahbaz Alam (Programme Coordinator, School Excellence Programme)
Shahbaz Alam joined the School Excellence Programme of Naandi Foundation as a Programme Coordinator on 20 April, 2013. He completed his graduation from Chaudhary Charan Singh University (formerly Meerut University, Uttar Pradesh). He shifted to Jharkhand to study further and did his post graduation from Xaviers Institute of Social Sciences, Ranchi (Jharkhand) in 2013. Shahbaz considers Naandi Foundation a complete organization due to the impact we have on all aspects of human development – through our education, livelihoods and health portfolios. He is a sports lover and enjoys playing basketball and football. He likes listening to music and reading spiritual books at leisure. He dislikes watching television.
Shweta Velandy (Facilitator, Mumbai Public Schools)
A post graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication, Shweta Velandy joined the Mumbai Public School Programme on 15 April, 2013 as a Facilitator. After working for Aishwarya Publication – A weekly newspaper circulated in the Middle East, Shweta decided to nurture her interest in the education sector. In her journey so far, she has designed course curriculums, built relations with institution heads, identified & initiated new business partnerships. While working with Ignite Education she designed the New Teacher course for potential teachers and led its pilot project. Coming from a media background, Shweta is mad about movies. She reads biographies, mystery/thriller books and loves making new friends. In her role as a Mumbai Public School Facilitator, Shweta ensures bringing consistency in the delivery of learning outcomes for the English Medium Schools of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. She tells us, “It’s been only four months since I joined Naandi Foundation. But it is already been a great learning experience. Children are my biggest motivation and strength!”
